TEFROTEX® Viscoelastic Thix

The coating is exceptionally well suited for use in indoor and outdoor areas and is particularly impressive due to its low film thickness. Thanks to its thixotropic properties, TEFROTEX® Viscoelastic Thix can also be safely applied to inclined substrates without running.

In combination with electro-galvanised steel sheets, a high-performance sandwich construction is created that ensures optimum sound deadening over a wide frequency range. The high loss factor provides particularly effective energy absorption and vibration reduction. The system can also be used on vertical surfaces such as interior walls or bulkheads to effectively minimise vibration-induced noise.

Our solvent-free 2-component polyurethane coating is characterised by its permanently elastic properties, its high bonding strength and its excellent sound insulation effect. Furthermore, the system offers great flexibility in the design of floor structures, as it can be easily combined with various top coverings such as carpet or vinyl.

TEFROTEX® Viscoelastic Thix meets the requirements of the IMO FTP Code 2010 in accordance with Annex 1, Part 2 Smoke and Toxicity Test and Part 5 Test for Surface Flammability and is therefore suitable for applications with high fire protection requirements in the maritime environment.
